Car Accident
Hi, it's been awhile.
I haven't been as active in my training recently, what mostly due to some recent stress an how I've been dealing with it. I got into a car accident near the end of March, and I've been spending the majority of the time since then attempting to procure myself a new vehicle. Can't say it was a great mistake to make, and it sure as heck wasn't cheap either. My mom had a friend who was trying to sell off their car at the time, so it seemed like a no brainer to try and buy it off him. Turns out the unibody frame was so rusted overtime sad the car wouldn't pass inspection, and therefore I couldn't get a valid insurance for it. Ended up driving a few hours South to pick up a car in a much better condition (albeit more expensive) and was able to get a proper inspection cleared.
Roughly a month and about $5000 later, I'm finally back to some semblance of normality. During this time, however, I can't say that my response to the stress was healthy in any way. I reacted by burying myself deeper in the technology around me, mostly the computer but my phone wasn't helping either when I was stuck at work 2 hours before my shift due to a lack of ride. I was also participating in classes over zoom for the time, which is fine for me on paper, but the moment class ends I find myself with a mouse in hand and fingers on a keyboard using a system that just so happens to have my entire game library on it. Imagine that.
So yeah, this month's been rough. The best thing I can do right now is try and refocus myself towards my Kung Fu. My form reps have been psyching quite a bit, and I could be doing much better in terms of my mindfulness when it comes to acts of kindness. I know I probably have quite a few more than 26 acts of kindness this year, unfortunately I have the attention span and memory of goldfish. If I don't process the fact that what I just did was something I can record, I probably never will. My push-ups and sit-ups are not the greatest sight either, so that's something I can work on as well.
